Quick! Where Can I Get Transparent Footwear?

This is just a quick note, gang, sent from Mom's Pie House in Julian, while tucking away some apple pie with ice cream to fortify us for the trip back to San D (via the coast, can't miss Black Sheep in Encinitas and maybe the knit-in in Del Mar this afternoon).

Does anyone know where I might find see-through wellies or some kind of transparent footwear? I know they exist for kids, but surely someone does them for sock fiends too?

Answers before Tuesday PLEASE because that's when we head back to the damp greenness of Ireland.

Will post tonight again.

Google is your friend:

Those are made by the people who make the self-patterning sock yarn.

Neelia at took some back to Ireland from Germany, if I remember correctly.

Hi, Jo,

My friend, Sue, has some transparent footwear at her store in New Hampshire. If you tell me your size, she and I (she's coming to Ireland with us) could bring you some, if she has some left in your size when we come...or she could mail them to you, I expect. They are shoes with laces, come above ankles. If interested I can take a photo of them on Monday and email it to you... Betty in Vermont!

Neat way to show off the new socks and also the older socks! If they take that much work, a gal wants to show them off - I understand completely.
Looks like you have a few sources to try out, Jo.
Will the suitcases need sitting upon this time to close them?

Jo, the regia boots I found in stock online all seem to be in children's sizes, but I did find some clear clogs in womens sizes in stock at the Yarn Barn:

I couldn't find anything that there was available in CA.

Oh my gosh - You've tripped a vivid memory of my mom wearing transparent galoshes over her Sunday shoes.

As Oregon ducks we all had galoshes. In doing a search just now I even spotted a pair much like a pair I loved as a kid:

Regia apparently now only makes them in sizes up to 35
Has them pictured. I had them for my kids back in the 90s when they came out.

All I got was complaints about sweaty feet. But clear clogs? Now that might be a great idea, since your feet might breath.

But if you want them from Germany, there should be on-line stores that carry them and obviously mail to other EU countries.

Following the links - most list them as discontinued. Clogs, think clogs.
